However, for every rule, there is an exception. Therefore, we ask you to share your opinion and experience regarding traditional medicine for hair loss.

Before you start reading our list of top 10 folk remedies, keep in mind that it's hard to cure men's baldness. Even the most potent drugs as Dutasteride cannot always treat hair loss in men. Do you believe that some masks may miraculously cure your baldness? If you have higher stages of baldness (higher then Norwood 3), these methods are not for you.

When should I expect the first results?

If we assume that folk remedies can stop hair loss, then the first results should be seen in six months. It takes so long because of the biology of hair and hair growth cycles. It needs the same time to see the first results if you use Minoxidil and Finasteride

mustard for hair loss1. Mustard

You can use a mustard mask after hair wash. The mask recipe includes the following components:

  • Two tablespoons of dry mustard powder;
  • Half a glass of black tea decoction;
  • One yolk.

Mix them and put the mask on the wet hair roots for 15 minutes. After, remove it using warm water. Be careful, and try to apply less gruel. Mustard may treat hair roots, but it can damage other parts. After putting the mask on, you can use a cling film and wrap yourself in a warm towel.

Be aware of the sensations. You may feel a little burning on the scalp. If burning enhances, you need to finish the procedure and wash your hair. Make a less concentrated mask by reducing the amount of mustard.

TOP 10 WAYS IN TRADITIONAL MEDICINE TO TREAT HAIR LOSS2. Salt

You can use table, iodized or sea salt to make a salt mask suitable for home procedures. To prepare the mask, mix two tablespoons of salt with water until gruel forms. If you don't want to dry your skin, add olive oil.

Next, moisten hair roots with warm water and rub the mask for 10 minutes with soft movements, massaging the scalp. Be careful - do not damage the skin. After the procedure, wash your hair with shampoo.

You may add various supplements to the mask depending on the type of hair:

  • For dry hair, instead of olive oil, use almond oil and 25 ml non-carbonated mineral water. Apply the mixture to the hair roots and let it soak for half an hour. After, wash your hair with shampoo, do not use a balm or rinse aid.
  • If your scalp is oily, add one tablespoon of castor oil and the same amount of lemon juice to the salt. After, put on a shower cap and wrap yourself in a towel. Steamed skin absorbs more nutrients and allows them to penetrate inside hair follicles through open pores. Keep the mask for 20 minutes, after, shampoo your hair.
  • For normal hair, you can add a banana. Take a medium-sized banana,  mash it, and add a tablespoon of salt. Apply the mask to moistened roots, rub into the scalp for five minutes, then cover with a shower cap. Keep it for 20 minutes, then wash it off.

If you have wounds on the scalp, apply the mask with caution. Avoid large grains and use fine salt to avoid damage. If you use salt from the Dead Sea, reduce its concentration in the mask for approximately 30%, because the salt from this place is more active.

baking soda for hair loss3. Baking soda

Baking soda is alkaline, so use it with care, or you may damage the scalp and cause acid-base imbalance. To avoid it, you can use a lemon. Add one tablespoon of baking soda and 15 drops of lemon juice or a pinch of citric acid in 20 mg of warm water.

Rub the mask into the hair roots and wait 10 minutes. After, wash your hair with warm water without shampoo. You can use a soda mask only if you have normal or oily hair types. If you have dry hair, you should use moisturizing ingredients like oils.

Use a soda mask no more than twice a week for no more than two months in a row. Then, take a break for one month. If you have oily hair type and sharp sebum secretion, then you can add a small amount of baking soda into a shampoo.

A soda mask soothes the skin and can treat the itching.

egg yolks for hair loss4. Egg yolks

Beat a few egg yolks and add a small amount of vodka or cognac. Carefully separate the yolks from the protein as protein is difficult to wash from hair. Then apply the mask on the scalp with soft massaging movements. Wrap your head in a towel for 20-25 minutes.

The yolk masks are suitable for dry and brittle hair. As a result, hair becomes softer and more pleasant. Also, this recipe may treat inflamed skin and itching.

Use the mask once a week.

nettle for hair loss5. Nettle

Nettle leaves contain vitamins of B, C, E, and K groups, and are rich in organic acids, carotene, and phytoncides. Besides, it includes high contents of some microelements essential for hair metabolism: calcium, potassium, sulfur, copper, iron.

Surprising as it may seem, the concentration of vitamin C in nettle is higher than in lemon.

The decoction of both fresh and dry leaves is equally efficient. Therefore, you can use the recipe at any time of the year.

Pour nettle leaves with boiling water and allow it to cool to a temperature pleasant for your skin. After this, strain and rinse your hair slowly with this infusion.

You can wash or rinse hair with a decoction of nettles, alternating both methods for the best results.

Prepare a tonic and apply it after washing with shampoo to strengthen hair. The recipe:

  • 30 g of nettle leaf;
  • half a liter of water;
  • half a liter of wine vinegar.

Boil the mixture over low heat for two hours. Pour the cooled mixture into a glass bottle and store in a cool, dark place. Shake well before you apply it. You can rub the mixture into clean hair, or add to other masks. For rinsing, dilute it with water in a concentration of one to five.

If you have no time and desire to prepare the recipe by yourself, you can buy it on Amazon!

The roots and leaves of the burdock contain a high content of essential oils, tannins, and vitamins A, B, C, D, E.

Wash the roots, clean it off the ground and dirt, allow it to dry. After, cut it into pieces. Do not conserve the plant for a long time, as the burdock loses most of its useful properties after six months.

Folk medicine uses the plant for different purposes:

  • To treat the stomach;
  • To improve the condition of diabetes;
  • As a wound-healing agent;

To get rid of dandruff, use the recipe:

  1. Heat a tablespoon of burdock oil;
  2. Add five drops of mixed essential oils of basil, lavender, rosemary;
  3. Add a teaspoon of Aloe Vera gel;
  4. Apply the mixture on your head and leave for an hour.

carrot for hair loss7. Carrot

Carrots combined with starch and honey make hair dense and cure dandruff. Merely mix all the ingredients and apply them on washed, wet hair.

Carrots are rich with vitamins A, E, and C. These vitamins improve the metabolism of cells and can participate in the development of hair follicles.

To make a mask of carrot, we need:

  • Carrot oil;
  • Peach oil;
  • Burr oil;
  • Olive oil.

Mix and heat all ingredients. Then, apply the mask to washed hair for 2-3 hours. After, shampoo your hair.

There are two ways to make carrot mask:

  1. Put grated peeled carrots in a heated bath and then pour olive oil. Gradually, the oil will absorb the ingredients and change its color to orange. The carrots will precipitate. After, you can clean the oil from impurities and pour into a storage vessel;
  2. Peel and rub carrots, place in a jar, and fill with olive oil. Tightly seal the dish, set it in the sunlight, and wait for two weeks. Shake the jar every morning.

You can buy ready-made carrot oil, but keep in mind that it will contain preservatives.

burr oil for hair loss8. Burr oil

There is no need to make burdock oil on your own because you can buy it at any pharmacy or Amazon. Add a few drops of oil to your balm. It will strengthen hair and improve blood circulation in the hair follicles.

How to use a mask:

  • Apply the mask to dirty hair before washing; the result will be more noticeable;
  • You need to wear a warming cap to facilitate its penetration into the hair structure. Wrap your hair in a bag and put on a warm hat;
  • Use only warm masks. You can warm the mixture in the microwave, but it is more useful to use a heated bath from two vessels;
  • It is necessary to keep the mask on hair for at least one hour;
  • Shampoo hair from an oil.

olive oil for hair loss9. Olive oil

You can heat 50 ml of olive oil and apply it on your hair during the bath procedure. After, wrap your head in a shower cap and a terry towel for several hours. Then wash off the oil. Use oil with caution, as after procedure, it may fatten your hair for several days.

balanced diet for hair loss10. Balanced diet

A balanced diet may prevent hair loss. Especially if you eat these particular foods:

Beef, chicken, cod liver, chicken and quail eggs, peas. These foods are rich in cysteine and methionine proteins. They take part in the synthesis of keratin, which forms the hair shaft.

Nuts, all kinds of meat, fish, soy, oats. These foods are rich with L-arginine that increases blood microcirculation and therefore facilitates hair growth.

Eggs, brown bread, sprouted wheat, and brewer's yeast. These foods are rich with selenium. If you regularly consume these foods, you may prevent hair loss.

Vitamin complexes. It is difficult to absorb enough vitamins from food and control a vitamin balance in your body. Vitamins are critical as they affect the vital processes of body activity and cell development. The lack of vitamins immediately affects the condition of hair and nails. So it's significant to consume vitamin complexes that supply your body with all essential elements.
